Mr Wonderful:
you were possibly a few meters further down the hill / reentrant vs. my track into the small depression.

The large stony gray sideways U or > sign left of your #2 looking around spot is where I encountered it, just uphill/closer to parking lot from where you looked.

Flip to satellite and compare to your satellite.

Might be interesting to add your track to compare:

Makes sense. I saw the circle on the depression next to the trail, and there was a shallow one there and a correspond RE on the E...interesting!

Mr Wonderful:
makes for an interesting trade off: Try to hit a reentrant sort of "head on" to sweep it to ensure no wrong elevation issues, versus coming across it to make it easier to hit but maybe missing high or low and not knowing which. Maybe blending the two: aim at "middle" and then on approach veer and sweep slightly.

Also, great midweek practice, love it!
