I have no problem with swimming in general, quite the opposite. What I don't like is how there are 4 different strokes with races in each for every distance. I think it should be who can complete the distance in the shortest time is the winner, not who's fastest while also doing the specific stroke. This creates so many more medal opportunities that I think is unfair to other sports (in the Olympics etc).

What other sport has a similar setup? When would you ever do butterfly in real life? Why dont you see triathletes or open water swimmers using strokes other than front crawl?

Basically what I'm saying is get rid of the strokes and just have distances, with people able to use any way they want to complete the distance, obviously as long as they stay in their lane.
