Thank you Bryce! Both events sounded great and I wish I could have gone for that swimming control too! Glad that tRicky was ill (although we all want him to be better soon) so he could help you at the orienteering event.
Wish I was there but I was out having my own huge day - best bit was.... I didn't have to volunteer!!
Thanks Bryce, I only did the rogaine because it had something different from the norm so well done to you. Can't believe six teams didn't go for the easy (and most fun) 300 points!!!
If OWA decides to continue with the Sat/Sun events after reviewing this season, I think it'd make sense to have the events on two separate days but good on you for tying the two together, as I've been advocating for years. Unfortunately with heat that probably ruled a lot of people out of doing both but it was more the chafing I had that meant I couldn't run in another event although was perfectly happy to sit behind the desk and write down times instead.
Glad you slept though. I slept terribly, got up three times to get more fluids into me and ended up reading in bed for ages because I couldn't sleep.
I needed the sleep I think I had about 4 each of the prior two nights so by the end of last night I was tapping out - still tired after 7 was really hoping for 9 but that was never going to happen!
I bet you did wake - as I felt parched this morning so could only imagine how you felt!
Apparently the 3.5L of soft drink and choc milk I had before I even got home wasn't nearly enough... (or just made it worse)
