No, it's not. I mentioned that to the RD before the start. The bluff above the Mississippi is not 600 feet high. The original map was from USGS 10' contours. My guess is that when it got updated to LIDAR, it went to 5m contours, but on the legend, they just changed feet to meters.

LIDAR in Illinois: Some of the base maps we've received up here in the Chicago area are a mass of contours....on what we always thought was gently sloping ex-farm fields. Maybe 6" contours? Meaningless jumble. You're lucky that map was runnable at all!

I didn't do anything to "tune" the vegetation. I just used the settings I've been using for the latest data around Lawrence. From the write up it sounds like there's some thick vegetation. With some tuning, it might be possible to get a lot of that automatically.

It is a little hard to see the map in the race write-up, but it looks more like regular USGS contours than processed lidar.
