I have a pair of Scarpa Maestrale. Tons of people have them (mango orange and black). Very comfortable, great range of motion in tour mode and then they are plenty stiff when you buckle them up. And light. Folks had trouble with the walk/ski mode icing up and not going into ski mode sometimes on the older models but they have fixed that on the new ones.
I think I'm even more fond of Carbon's Dynafit TLT.
As you know it all depends on the fit first (and then the colour ;) rock the mango!)
Yes, Maestrale are certainly a referential in the Freeride Touring category. I'll be interested to know what you think if you ever give the Arc'teryx Procline Carbon a go. I've got my first day of ski touring coming up next weekend near Chamonix so I'll get a sense of it then. Should be sweet...
Arc'Teryx is making ski boots now? Interesting.
Ski touring near Chamonix? The company is sending over their top field tester? Rough job ;)
