Discussion: cataract surgery with a multifocal lens implant

I was wondering if there were any orienteers out there that have tried one of the recently available multifocal lens implants which try to provide both distance and near vision. I would be very interested in any reports on whether they have worked out well both in the context of everyday use and orienteering use, and if there have been any problems that have come up.

4 years and no problems. map reading is very good, distance is very good. anything about arms length away is slightly out of focus.
