The radio commentators explained what was going on pretty quickly. I don't know if they got an explanation or if they figured it out themselves.
I recorded the first half and listened to the 2nd half. It seemed like an exciting game and I was thinking that you might be at the AA (or do you say "Double A"?).
Speaking of basketball, I picked up the latest Michael Lewis book and was surprised that the first chapter was about basketball. The first chapter is at Slate:
Also, I noticed that Aka Gorski didn't play...what's up with that? Is he hurt?
I wondered about Gorski, too. While the players were going through their final warmups, something seemed strange, but it didn't register at first. And something seemed strange during the player introductions, too, but again it didn't register. Finally, as the game started, it occurred to me that Gorski was missing, and I couldn't (at first) pick him out on the bench either. Which was because he wasn't dressed out for the game. Finally I figured out he was sitting with the redshirts.
And later I learned he was held out of the game because he had hit his head in practice and had suffered a concussion. He's expected to play in the next game in a week or so.
I read an extended excerpt from the book this morning, about Morey of the Houston Rockets. I'm guessing it's from the first chapter without yet checking that link.
