Hey, look at *you* increasing your running by 50% in 2016! In spite of injury! Well done.

I think you bought classic skis last year? Conditions are terrific so far! Killian Jornet and Rory Bosio use that strategy instead of running on ice all winter. If you don't have good running snowshoes, get yourself a pair even if you don't plan to actually run on them very much. Climbing hills on or off-trail in the snow is a fun way to sneak in some strength training, and you might be able to find some kids to join you.

That's looking on the bright side for sure. Good idea

Yes I have all that gear including totally virgin skate skis. And I got out on ice skates for the first time in 25 years last winter. I didn't mind that at all but have zero interest in doing circles in an arena.

My classics are waxless beaters but are ok for me. Haven't managed to get skate boots yet but I think this will be season three so the only remaining options are to obtain a sassy younger sibling or the program will be cancelled.

If it stays cold, the Palgrave skating pond is awesome. And now there is a great pub practically next door! :)

Hows the ice looking? Probably still needs some consistent low temps to be skate able?

Not quite ready yet but it was getting close before things warmed up today. It hasn't gone above freezing so maybe it will be ready for Christmas!

They test ice thickness but they don't have a website or anything. It's near 'Bent's office so he can keep an eye on it.

It is! A bit noisy if there's a crowd but the food and drinks are great.
