I don't know you. You don't know me. I know Ben from a different era. Either way, it doesn't matter...
I'm touched and motivated by what you wrote. Very thoughtful. Keep doing what you're doing lad. You're in a great place. Train hard and have a great 2017. Then do it all over again and have an even better 2018. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.
That a boy! Get after it!
Having read way too many rants on Facebook, thanks for such an extensive, deeply positive post. Brought a big smile to my face. Go forth and do great things!
Thanks for sharing all this! So inspiring. And sometimes it really is the simple things that I'm the most grateful for - yes, thumb compasses...and just being in nature. We are lucky indeed. Happy New Year!
Yes Greg! So great to be part of your journey.
Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone. This is a support structure that has motivated me a ton. Also, Klepperton, say hi if we happen to coincide at a meet. I'd love to meet you!
Thanks for the kind words. I know well from my own travels - not necessarily training for WOC greatness but rather for fun - what it means to be met and put up by kind orienteers from all over the World. In my case it´s been mostly in North America, in my canadian adventures in the 70ies and 80ies and the month I spent in US this fall.
You´re certainly welcome to visit in Sweden whenever you´re coming this way again.
Good luck with training and racing - See you at WOC!
Will do man. Most likely staying in North America this year. (I have a 3 year old and 4 month old.)
Was down in Costa De La Luz (Cadiz and Vejer) last spring and snuck in some do it yourself training in Barbate. Nice open hummocky pine forest on the Atlantic...great little part of Spain.
You never know, we might find ourselves in Europe at some point this year...if I can convince my wife!!
Enjoy Harriman. Train hard.
gracias dude.ya sabes, el 9 de enero empieza el Renacimiento del turno de tarde y el asiento del golf tiene tu nombre.Espero egoistamente que ese momento en que vivamos lejos no llegue nunca.TKCLP.
Spoken like a true athlete, time for a snack. Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing what you can with what you've got, and that's all you can ask. I'm happy to be able to help you along the journey! Happy new year =)
Very well said, Greg! We all appreciate everything that you do as well.
Thank you Greg, for the inspiration. That's something you can't fake and which is a necessary condition for greatness. Keep rolling and carrying a bunch of us on your back.
Well that was a refreshing antidote to 2016's lesser moments! Thank you, Greg, and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2017. Glad to see you back home for the holidays, too!!
I have really enjoyed hanging out with you this year, Greg. You are an inspiration, and your contribution to the US community and the social group is tremendous. I especially appreciate your thoughtfulness, reflection, and zest for life - and your post is a great example. Here's to many more adventures on the trail of life!
Said with the passion of a champion.
Thanks, Greg. You deserve all the support from the US orienteering community that you can get. We will continue to push for it through the OUSA Board and other means. Glad to have you representing the US out there in the world, in more ways than just orienteering!
Great stuff! Keep it up. If you want to get back to Team Trials terrain at Pond Mt or any other place in central CT, let me know. We have quite a few maps ready though some still informal. Have a good 2017.
I wasn't expecting so many to thank me back! Thanks for the motivation!
