My first time up on Mt Rowe in a few years - skis not super fast so I'm struggling up the steep sections, doing a lot more herringboning than I wanted, when this dude comes down a fairly steep narrow section gracefully carving turn after turn.
After he'd passed by, I thought "that looked a bit like Ari, need to check his log this evening and see if he was in these parts".
I only made it to the dead end view point 2/3 of the way up the hill - didn't make the final killer climbs to the flatter stuff up top.

Ha, small world! I had a few struggles making turns up top (where it was steep and a bit rocky, plus my rock skis don't exactly have edges) but it was better down there. I definitely would have said hello had I been focused on anything other than not losing an edge and tumbling in to a tree (mostly because Triacs). Views of Washington up top were excellent.

Quite the climb there, probably tons of fun in powdery conditions (and also probably fun to rip down the road there to the alpine area) but a little iffy yesterday. Conditions across the way were excellent. Too bad about the rain today …
