For motivation you might try CityStrides
. A neat app that maps out how much of an area you've run. I used it actively for motivation for a number of months last winter... Pretty much ran out of NEW places to run within reasonable strking distance of the house, but a good motivator - figuring out where to run to knock off another street, or stringing a series of streets together for a longer jaunt.
Automatically syncs from Strava, which autosyncs from Garmin Connect. So my phone automatically uploads my track after each run, then pushes it to Strava which pushes to CityStrides. And then I manually import GC>AttackPoint.
