Nice exploration in your neighbourhood. That is so sad about your Charlie Brown tree.

Do you think the 8K snowshoe is workable? If it's like last time, I think there was a turn-off for the 4K partway through so you could change plans if necessary. And of course, you could go to Albion Hills and practise on their snowshoe trail in the northeast section. As you might guess, there will be the odd hill.

Bash: yes, I think the 8km snowshoe is in my range. I could have continued yesterday. The key may well be how early I arrive and socialize. I might be best to bias that to post race - assuming anyone is still there by the time I'm done.

We'll be there! We're signed up for the 8K Snowshoe + 4K run duathlon. We both have silver medals to defend. :)

My goal is to finish the snowshoe quicker than the slow people in the 8k + 4K run. I figure people signing up for the double are likely to be more race oriented.

That's true. Somehow the 8K/4K duathlon was overlooked when the poster was created and then wasn't mentioned in subsequent Facebook posts. It still exists but it may be a small category.
