Discussion: Tree on the way to #3

At first (and continued) glance it looks like some kind of magnolia, largely because of the shininess of the leaves. I can picture a forest that might once have been someone's yard having mature magnolias. I didn't research southern forests, though, so don't know if that guess is correct.
