Thanks for all your hard work!
Are you allowed to say if its going to be a 15 or 10 map (green)? Would like my last tune-up map to be same scale as meet map.
All 2 (or even as many as 3?) readers of my AP log are entitled to a little insider information:
The intent is for all maps to be 1:10,000 for everyone's visual benefit. It will depend on map marking support (I'm not performing that task). It may end up being 1:15. Oh, did you want a clear answer? :)
Seriously, I'll report back once I get the course files.
White and Orange are 1:10,000; Green and Red are 1:15,000
I really wanted everything 1:10 but three of us tried unsuccessfully to convert Purple Pen files to .pdf without messing up the courses. I can't print out 11x17 at home and no copy place will be able to support PP files...so had to stick with 8.5x11 for all courses and thus the larger scale for green/red. Sorry! Green/red folks will have to squint.
If anyone knows the magic formula on converting PP to .pdf without offsetting the course, do tell!!
It wasn't that bad. I had to stop a few times to sort out little things on the map, but Babler doesn't require a whole lot of really fine reading.
Controls are all stashed at #1. There was another pile already there. Put them all in a white plastic trash bag behind a tree near the control.
BTW, Yvonne, you were positively radiant. I don't know if you're taking some new vitamin or if you were just in a super good mood but, wow, it rubbed off on everybody. What a great day!
I told Jeff R. to put his controls @ #1 too. He was out there super early! I'll retrieve them this week (and hopefully have time for a trail run too).
I think I was in a super good mood...glad to be done w/ meet directing for a while?? ha - kidding! Maybe just thrilled to see so many folks enthusiastic about orienteering.
It was a great course and wonderful day! And yes, so many faces! Thank you so much for all your work!
