Like the feel of the cush without feeling up to high

Hokas are like Japanese schoolgirl cartoon shoes. Anime they are not.

They seem ridiculous. NB have often fit me weirdly but I'm sure hoping for the fresh foam to come through. I only want to wear elevator shoes if they have the built in goldfish tanks.

I had those! They were called Crayons. 1983. What a year!

1989 was great year. Reebok Pumps. Like hoka's for you ankles.

I've had a couple of Hoka for trail. Interesting shoes for sure and have their place for specfic situations. I think most of them are a 4mm offset but go for the lowest forefoot-heel to get as low as the ground you can like the Tracer for road.

If all else fails Kangoo

The newer hokas (ATR, Speedgoat, Instinct) are a lot less jurassic than they used to be. They've saved my knee in many an ultra. If only they saved your stomach...

Have you tried eating a pair before a race? It may sound difficult, but you just have to cut them into manageable slices. And pretty soon, there's just one slice left.

I seem to be settling on the most elevated and squishy pair of Hokas known to humankind. Kinda funny. Bondi 4. Just trying to get the coop to price match.

I think runners den carries them too - and often prices much better than mec

$170 @ mec, $118 @ 33off, but a different colour so they won't match. Ok, found the same colour at running free, $119. So I'll go back and try again. If not, then off to the den. This shoe was released in spring 2015 and the next edition is out now. Even hoka itself has the 4 on clearance. But not mec. Ding dongs.

Isn't the Bondi a road shoe?

Isn't the marathon a road sport?

It is. And yes, looking for solutions to train high volume on roads for Chicago 2017 prep without major physical breakdowns.

I'm not planning on wearing that crazy stuff on trails.

Why not go with Brooks? It looks like they took a biopsy of Super's muscles and injected it into the mid sole. They call it "Super DNA". The shoe is probably good for road runs, the odd sub 4 hour marathon, and the odd trail run too - as long as it isn't too muddy. Don't count on that shoe to handle gula stigen toughness though cause that ain't in its DNA.

Hey, look, I would but for one thing. Anything orange and white I can't ever find. It's a thing.
