I did that while snowshoeing on Saturday in Glen Haffy - a place where I've set and raced a lot of orienteering courses! I wandered off the map onto private land and it was beautiful but totally unfamiliar. Luckily, my iPhone compass got me back to a place I recognized but it took awhile.
I've run all through this tract, but I was following and not paying attention and it looks soooo different with all the snow and no leaves. It's such a small area and so well known that it was funny to get turned around so quickly.
In our early years at this house before we all carried cell phones, 'Bent got lost while snowshoeing out our back door and was almost late for work!
I love the fact that it was possible to get lost on our block.
