The attackpoint exercise goes like this:

You have a white course. Then at each control on that white course, you have 4 little (laminated) maps, each with a single control shown (plus the location where you are, as a start triangle). Those extra controls are off trail, 50-100m away. So you're practicing attacking - you go to one of them, then come back, then go to another, come back, and so on. Careful compass and distance and map-reading.
After you go to all 4, then you travel on to the next white course control, where more little maps are waiting for you.
