is that the word 'vetting' is used. I don't like the term itself (or the ethos) but I just go catatonic when I hear about refugees being 'processed'. In my mind I see a sausage coming out of a sausage machine - squished and bland and pulverised. So demeaning!
I see what you mean. But even job applications are 'processed'. And in my mind, vetting is for rogaine control sites - a much pleasanter thought.
Certainly much more pleasant. And as I was typing it I thought that tragically refugees are eventually 'squished and bland and pulverised" they way we treat them. But once I got the thought in my head it just wouldn't disappear.
I agree with your comments Jenny, the only surprise is that it was even considered a possibility.
We need some new terminology too it seems.
