Shucks about the Snowshoe Incident but quick thinking and a stellar performance.
btw- the snowshoe (yellow pair) was left there, and now its in my garage- or so i think since i heard that story
Our 4 yellow snowshoes came home so that pair must belong to someone else. They are expensive so you will probably hear from a racer very soon!
Thanks again for all your hard work on today's event. :)
Thanks again Nick. Nice course, and we appreciate all your hard work.
Sucks to be the one who broke the wife's snowshoe and messed up the race. I felt pretty bad about it.
I was able to repair it at home- I drilled out the rivets and bolted in some climbing webbing. It w as a bugger of a job to get the rivet out though.
All 4 of our yellow Atlas Race snowshoes have tears in the binding fabric in the same spot, so I think they're near the end of their life.
I may see if it's worthwhile paying Atlas to replace the bindings this spring.
Hermes, spectacular job and well earned victory!
You didn't mean to do it! :) It's a good lesson learned about patience with a slower teammate.
Note to everyone with the yellow Atlas Race snowshoes- check the black hypalon (plastic) straps on the outboard side of the bindings for tears. The side of the crampon eventually slices them.
Thanks Richard. That was helpful.
I'm thinking of changing my middle name or AP handle to Helpful.
And your profile photo could be my broken snowshoe!
Does he do the same thing on the dance floor?
What is this "dance floor" you speak of?
Btw the *truly* helpful one is Super, who posted info on 33-Off's big snowshoe sale last month. Thanks to him, I already have a brand new pair of Atlas Race snowshoes for this Sunday's race. In fact, I had them at yesterday's event too, conveniently stashed in our van, far from the accident site.
Wait- I thought this was the 'pile on 'Bent' post. I'll put it back on track. Do you know how much longer it takes to put the ' in 'Bent's name when typing on an iPhone??? ;-)
Thanks for getting things back on topic, Jay!
When 'Bent first started on Attackpoint, his handle didn't work. Rather than making him change it to something simpler, Ken updated AP. He's too nice. :)
