Your description sounds very different to when I did it. Mine was hot, dry, no mud and not too technical. I guess conditions of the trail is weather dependant.

Yeah Andy, water and mud everywhere, duckboards pretty slippery... But I prefer that to a hot weather. Apart from the beginning I never had more than 1l water with me - plenty of streams.
