The program is finished and ready for your eager perusal! Please print/save/tattoo copies of this program and make sure it's accessible all weekend.

Sprint Camp Program

Note that the program includes shoe recommendations for each race based on regular Vancouver conditions. If ice and snow are still present, you should wear your grippiest shoes.

The list of two-person relay teams is available. If you want to make any changes, please email Scott by the end of the Friday banquet (see page 15 of the program for instructions).

Have the waivers been e-mailed? Is there anywhere a copy we can access? Signing for a minor, and not travelling with him.

A few questions re the info in the packet:

1) Session 2, SI Race 1, says "no spikes please." Is that overridden by the latest recommendation to "wear your grippiest shoes"? Is there a distinction being made between studs and spikes?

2) Session 9, SI Race t, says "Announcement of start times @ 11:05" but "Interval Start @ 10:15-11:35" but "Chase start." Seems clear that "chase start" overrides "interval start" but I presume that the start times will be announced before the starts! Maybe first start is intended to be 11:15?

3) Same question as (1) re Session 4, which states "Running shoes with grip but no studs".

1) & 3) The program gives regular Vancouver weather recommendations if snow is still present, which will be indicated on the GVOC webpage, then those recommendations override the program. No spikes as a recommendation indicates a fair amount of pavement underfoot but you'd need spikes if there is an ice layer over top. Rubber grip would be desirable if you want the "stud/spike-like" grip for grass/forest conditions but have to do some pavement running as well. Come prepared for both situations and you'll be set!

We have updated the program to correct this potential confusion. Thank you for the question!

2) Session 9

Announcement of start times @ 11:05
Mass Start @ 11:15
Gathering time for those in the Chase @ 11:30
Chase Start @ 11:35

There's been some miscommunication in the team on the timing for the chase.

11:05 - announcement on who is in the chase start. Those who are NOT in the chase start will start in the mass start at 11:15am
11:15 - mass start for those not in the chase start
11:30 - gathering for those in the chase start
11:35 - chase start begins

The idea to start the masses first is that you'll all be done your courses and be able to cheer on the elite chase finishers!
