Eric has conservative and careful orienteering, as well as very good pacing throughout races. This results in consistent results with very few errors. The Freaky thing is that this orienteering style costs him very little time speed wise.
And decades of international experience of course :)
Indeed he sets an excellent example to aspire toward - though I've always been interested to observe over the past 2-3 years that he and I do have very different styles.
