We thought of you today, especially on the "road" that I walked part way down and on the creek crossings. The stoker really needs to trust the judgement of the pilot. Which is why Paul and I are not on a tandem. Yet. :)

Yes, I agree that you need to be able to completely trust your pilot. Middy is the best technical rider I've ever ridden with. We turned a corner today on a gravel road and caught a really greasy spot and started to skid out (we weren't even going that fast). I pulled out of the clips, pulled my feet clear of the pedals, stayed balanced on the saddle and let her do her thing of bringing the tandem back under control. Not saying we'll never go down, but if anyone will be able pull us out of a sketchy section of road or trail, it's her.

I think you and Paul will make a better tandem team than you think. You've ridden together long enough that you know how each other rides. I'm learning that it's all about trust and communication, which I'm sure you two already have :)

Thinking we'll tack on the Waterloo G&G course or the Waterloo single track at some point for extra mileage. Of course there will be a break at the Chelsea Brewery in there somewhere :)
