Little Hairy is still there it has quite a few jumps but the single track is nice riding. It only goes to a firetrail though. If you had Strava...

Lol!!! He's going to have to log into my Strava because tRicky has Principles.

I don't need Strava although Bryce doesn't seem to use it anymore so I wouldn't have to put up with shite about my times up Mount St. I'll find Little Hairy when I go out to map it properly - was just having a cursory look yesterday. I only searched from the western end (which was a crap, uphill fire track so probably wasn't looking as well as I should) and according to the map I saw on Trails WA, it should also come out on the track that goes through Farrell Grove.

The Trails WA map is fairly accurate with all the other single track in the area (other than Mercury St).

Also it's not principles, that's like my sisters saying they don't invite me to things because I'm not on Facebook. What. The. F. I used to not get invited because I didn't have a phone so I got one now they've changed their communication preferences. Next it'll be telekinesis and I won't have that either.

If someone wants a trace from me, I don't tell them to go search my AP log (unless it's Ori asking me in my log), I send them a GPX file or at the very least a link.

They didn't say that did they???? :O
Feb 13, 2017 1:38 AM #
tRicky:
Not directly but you get all the invites.

Tash gets the invites as she is the high council and social adviser - get used to it.

Except I rarely hear about them until the day before the event then wonder why I suddenly have to provide a salad or dessert the following day/that afternoon!

Mind you I forgot to reply to my sister's last invite for yesterday's lunch so poo to me.

:( I was at fault for the layered garden salad incident. I'm sorry :(
Feb 13, 2017 1:51 AM #
tRicky:
Well we didn't even get an invite for Australia Day so we're both at fault for being unsociable.

My friends now know to tell me about fb events if they actually want me to come along.

Unrelated topic but does anyone have any ideas how to convert a OneDrive webpage spreadsheet to .xls so that I can actually work in it? This thing is giving me grief (silly woman is trying to claim 'wages' expenses by paying her business partner, a busker and some kids but her partner hasn't actually declared the income and I doubt the busker has either).

TrishTash:
Can't "save as" a .xml?
Feb 13, 2017 2:03 AM #
tRicky:
Nope, only options I get are .htm/.html, .mht or .txt.

Maybe see if there is somewhere you can click to get into 'edit mode'? Or try to open it in 'excel online'?
Feb 13, 2017 2:13 AM #
tRicky:
It's already in Excel Online (apparently) but thanks, I did just find an Edit button and it turned it into an Excel workbook.

If your shorts are catching on your saddle, the odds are they're showing your bum crack too. Definitely time to ditch them.

That's right, we're a disposable society as soon as anything shows sign of age. Makes me wonder how there's a M70 class!

You also can export in to text file then reimport the txt file to excel...when did I ask your trace? especially that most of it is viewable any way..

Months ago, about our KP loops.
Feb 13, 2017 12:23 PM #

Yeh, still not sure about those loops, mine were a bit different..

Back to the original topic, I just read that Little Hairy was closed... in 2013!!! It was never officially sanctioned and sanctioning doesn't seem to have progressed in the last 3-4 years since it doesn't appear on the list or map of Kalamunda trails.

brycec:
yes ovens and hairy are the wrong side of whatever that road is... dieback hence closed and not sanctioned.
Feb 14, 2017 12:21 PM #
tRicky:
No it's not. Little Hairy is right near Scorpion and Up, Up & Away - same side of Mundaring Weir Rd. It starts at about the 18.5km mark from my Sunday trace and heads towards Farrell Grove.

Little Oven is only closed in certain parts, namely east of Lockwood and bits of it near the Dell (that I've found). You can still see the signs for that and the old KC around the present KC, the Bib Track (on the fire road sections) and Munda Biddi.

brycec:
oh sorry your right I know where hairy is and yes unsanctioned - not sure why! I know they have more approvals further west though so would suggest its never going to get the green light.
Feb 14, 2017 1:07 PM #
tRicky:
It's not sanctioned because it got built without permission. I reckon DPaW can't sanction it after the fact because that opens the door for more track builders to do what they want and look for forgiveness after the fact (although I think it was built before all the current tracks got put in, back when there was no such thing as a trail plan).

I just wish someone would build a link track from X Files/FJ north to the fire trail. It'd make for a more interesting MTBO map in that area otherwise it's just two long stretches of track with nothing going on in between.

Boltboi:
build a track and ask for forgiveness
Feb 15, 2017 1:03 AM #
brycec:
Build a track with no connected line and green rates start and ends. No one will even know it's there but mtbo
Feb 15, 2017 1:30 AM #
tRicky:
I was thinking that ala Duncan and his Marrinup course then decided I'd be completely going against everything I've told DPaW about MTBOers not building tracks for our own purposes :-) Not that it made a difference to permissions that I asked for last year.
