Sounds fun, great pics! Wow, 'Bent looks intense in the last one - don't get in his way!

Thanks. Although I'm happy with how I felt, the result isn't meaningful, which is why I didn't mention it. I was the only woman to enter the long Snowshoe-run duathlon. A friend caught me 1 km before the end of the 1st lap and asked which event I was doing. She was entered in the shorter duathlon but decided on the fly to switch to my event, and she beat me. The two of us finished ahead of the 8K snowshoe-only racers, who were racing for a trophy in the Ontario Cup Snowshoe Series. We also finished our first 4K laps ahead of all but two of the women in the 4K events, as well as most of the men. So I'm pleased but technically I was 2nd and last in my category!

Agreed, the result isn't really meaningful in your category, but overall you had a very solid race.

I guess it's true.. if you're not first, you're last!

Except in 'Bent's case where he was both first AND last in the men's category of the 8K Snowshoe/4K Run duathlon! But he stayed ahead of all the other snowshoers regardless of event so his win is legit.
