Hey Amelia, this is Siri! I'm the one from Seattle on your training call. You're from New Zealand right? When/why did you move to the states? Just wanted to get to know you a little better :)

Hey Siri! Yeah I am, grew up on a lifestyle block just outside Palmerston North, in the North Island, and then I spent a year in the south island last year, in Christchurch, to study geology. I'm in the states on an exchange, arrived here early January, was rather cold when I got here, but I've adjusted to it now :P Are you close to the beach in Seattle? That's one thing I've found so weird being here, being so far away from the ocean (I'm still in a summer mindset :P)

Hi Amelia, I'm Thomas from Wisconsin, welcome to the team! That's very interesting, so I understand that you have dual citizenship and are joining JNT for the year while you're away from NZ? Didn't know that was possible but I'd love to know more. See you at interscholastics (right?).

Hey Thomas, thanks. Na, I don't have dual citizenship, so technically can't be apart of the JNT, but Erin is including me anyway. Yeah, will see you there

Right it's summer in NZ! Yeah I bet that's kind of weird for you. Seattle is right on Puget Sound which is salt water but not open ocean--I'm around 2 1/2 hours from the coast. Are you studying at a university or just taking a year to travel? Correct me if I'm wrong- back home you would have the new school year start after summer, right? So it would be starting around now?

Hi, Amelia! I am Ian, a old guy who is on the senior team, and I wanted to say hello. I stumbled across your comments on Izzy's log and grew curious about our new resident Kiwi. I hope we will all get to meet you at competitions or trainings in the months ahead. Welcome to the US!

Hi Ian! Thank you. Yeah, I'm looking forward to what this year has to bring and so grateful to be warmly welcomed into the orienteering community here. Should be a good year! Yeah, will hopefully get to meet you.

Hi Amelia! I'm Katie from California. When I was three I went to New Zealand, I don't remember it all that well, but pictures of that trip look like a lot of fun and I hope to visit again! I hope you are enjoying your time here! I look forward to meeting you!
