I will have surgery on 3/13. About three months with no activity except for very light PT to keep it moving, of which the first 6 weeks in a brace/sling. Then three months of building strength, without overdoing it. The surgeon warned me that most people like me are ready to go up the walls after two months ...
There is also a no-surgery option, which focuses on building up the muscles around the damaged tendon. But you'd never get anywhere near the range of motion back.

The surgeon apparently has never met people like you. You'll be going up the walls after two days!

And for walks with the dogs! But seriously, I am planning to follow doctor's orders because I want to get back to normal ASAP.
