Sorry you are having problems. As you told me, come back slow. Let things heal. You are in super shape and you will maintain fitness even if you missed a week.
I agree, don't push it! I really am liking running healthy again (duh!!) so I will TRY to behave so I can get back to that. I sure feel like a slug after a few days of no cardio. Time to set the bike up on the trainer!
I was going to get some swimming in, but one article I read said to avoid swimming as it can tighten up the achilles.
Have never heard of swimming and Achilles - could be the kicking motion, but this seems strange. Should check with Malcom

I thought it was weird too, but your Achilles would be shortened while kicking....so I suppose that makes sense...
I hope this heals up quickly for you. I had avoided the bike last year while dealing with it. I rode once and it seemed to be worse after. I could still do easy runs after I took some time off.
