Hello Jagge,
I have heard that you are using a Spartan watch? If so, did you find a efficient way to import the workout files into AP? So far I have to export them from Movescount but this takes too long, especially when I typically dump my training at two weeks at a time.
Thanks a lot!

Yes, I use spartan as a day to day watch. For runs I sometimes also have ambit3 peak with me.

I have written my own hack for syncing from movescount to AP. Script on routegadget net that logs into MC and exports tcx files, reads them and makes posts to AP. My usernames and passwords for AP and MC are hard-coded there and it all breaks the something changes at MC end. So it is just for my personal use. And it ignores splits and also gps tracks timestamps are wrong (1.1.1970). In additon I sometimes use an test movescount and when watch dumps data there my script doesn't see those workouts.

What I have planned to do is a bat/script on PC I could double click and it fetches all new workouts form MC and saves them as tcx (or fit). Then I could just drag drop them manually to Ap using batch mode. Do you think something like that being useful to you? Ken seem to have Movescount sync development "in progress", but meanwhile something like that might make everyday life easier. and make spartan almost par with ambits what it comes to AP use. It's unfortunate one can't export sml files from movescount ( think AP reads better sml files than tcx/fit files exported from Movescount).

Hello Jagge,
I am impressed by your job! I did ask the right person!
Yes, it would be really fantastic to have a software that fetches the new workouts from Movescount to dump them as a FIT file in a folder. Than it would be easy to make a batch entry on AP.
Ken also told me, that he's working on a syncing with Movescount. But in the meantime a batch entry possibility would be great.

Since I need it myself and the needed code already exists in my sync script I should be able to smash such dumper script in no time. I'll let you know later this week when I have something you can experiment with (windows, for mac you will have to ask someone else or run windows on your mac).

With my Ambit3 (as with trackpod before), my training possibly gets uploaded to MC, but for sure it gets stored locally on the computer in .sml. When I click upload, it takes me to my last-used folder (ApplicationnSupport/Suunto/Moveslink2 on mac) and the sml files are there. Then I upload (1 by 1, no fancy batch upload) from there the most recent sml files. Does this not work with Spartan?

It's not as cool as garmin->ap, and it doesn't do batch upload which would be cool, but suffices for someone when they aren't training much. Looking forward to seeing fancy versions appear.

Alas, as it is now, moves from Spartans are not stored the way moves from Ambits/trackpod. Spartan moves seem to get posted straight to MC, so one needs to manually export them from MC one by one.

I wonder why batch upload does not work for you. For me it works just fine, I just select "batch entry" instead of "add training" and drag-drop with mouse all new sml files to that data import box of AP.

But if you sync Ambit3 with your phone instead of laptop you will not get those precious sml files. Or you need to dig them up somehow from your phone. Not sure is it possible. To be able to use phone sync and AP I wrote that personal AP sync hack, so I can sync moves with phone to MC and then just trigger with phone's browser my script to sync data with AP. it does not matter is it recorded with trackpod, ambit or spartan. but it is just a quick hack with plenty of limitations, I'll be happy to test ken's implementation with various suunto devices the day there is something to test with.

BTW, after 40 years suunto dropped sponsorship so Suunto Games is now Helsinki O Games.

Wow! I'll be in Norway in early June, and have to be back in Ireland before Jukola, but I may see whether I can make it to HOG.

Maybe batch entry is ok with drag&drop. I'll try it next time I train more than twice in a week.

Yeah, batch entry should work with either drag+drop or multi-selection of SML files. I'm not aware of any issues there.

Indeed. My bad.
