If you haven't been to Swope Park, parking on Long Pond Rd., you might try that on your next exploratory visit.

Haven't been there yet - but did see the parking lot coming back from Carter Hill after a skiing excursion.
I do want to check that out - considering the Ralph Waldo Emerson Trail Race 10 miler this spring. Would be good to know what the hills are like before racing over them
I've downloaded all of the trail maps from the Concord Conservation Commission and am following the Concord NH Trail Runners group on Facebook - I need to spend more quality time in the woods of my childhood - any future O map of the Broken Ground will have to include the house I grew up in on East Side Drive...

Hadn't heard of it. Sounds like they got the wrong Concord! I see it finishes on a good (pass or be passed) stretch from the water tower in. Have not been on the trails west of Fisk St. It does a stop-turn around at Loop Rd. which I've been on, avoiding the dip in Pleasant when running...

Take a look at West End Farm Tr. between the Audubon Center and Carter Hill Orchard. It's about 7 mi. You could run 14 (!) or or get a ride from one end to the other and run back to the car. I'd be glad to give you a ride some spring day. Beth helped me out with it a few times.
