I was 2s behind at #3 (I came in from the west, you from the north), then i tried to run the red line, but it was horrible after the fence so i cut out onto the road and found myself 30m behind you - was making up ground but then you turned right at the crossroads and i went straight on...
Massive stuff up at 3, I turned too soon and ran up the ride by the ditch, which wouldn't have been too bad, but then completely didn't see the big track (apparently it isn't there at that point, so much for lidar maps!) so ended up one block further on.
Hence the sheepish approach from the NE
Turning right seemed like a good idea at the time.
Impressive turn of speed! I didn't do much wrong (although I also went to 20 on the way to 19) and took 61 minutes which - even if I did do a 10 K the day before - is a lot slower than you.
Thanks Steve! It's the sort of area that flatters orienteers of limited ability like me :-)
Thinking I might have to make my 10k debut this year....
