I've always found that stretch of the trip to castlewood annoying, though marshall to sulfur springs only leaves a few blocks of big bend to reis. Sulfur springs is generally not too bad.

i've gone some weird ways - through the landfill to SS, along the RR trax all the way to 141, and cut through the subdivisions north of the tracks to get to SS. But those routes got old the first time.

Now I'm thinking - ride to Lone Elk and ford the river if its not too high and its not too cold.

there's trail planned to connect castlewood to the marshall road trail system. Something to look forward to!

A connector across the river would be great!

The stretch from SS to Reis is probably the worst part right now because of the construction. It's one lane in both directions, no shoulder, construction debris, and the sidewalk that was there has been torn up.

I'm going to try staying north of BB by cutting through some subdivisions.

Let me know how the crossing goes! I've seen people on horses try and fail. Theres only one place that I know of that *might* be crossable, but the water is fast and there are some deep holes. Trail access north of the spot could be a problem. The rest of the river runs pretty deep.
