Also looked at the map you posted today, frightfully complicated! All of that yellow is deceiving.
Thanks. It's getting better bit by bit. If I were running in softer forest, it might not be an issue. But these areas are rocky and scratchy, which apparently the recovering injury doesn't particularly enjoy.
The area is actually much simpler than it looks. It's really overwhelming because of the number of rocks and the semi-open symbol. But when you look past that it doesn't have much to it.
Can you make up some sort of doughnut-bandage thing to take some of the pressure off the wound site? I don't like how this is lingering. Or add some extra insoles to your shoes (maybe an old one with a hole cut out for the injury) to add cushioning?
Keep up the cross training. Patience is part of this game.
So far I've found the best I can do is to bring down the inflammation with ice and elevation. Since it's still slightly swollen I don't think there' s much space in my shoe for anything else. According to my personal medical advisor Kswede told me I can expect it to be fully healed in six weeks, so at two weeks and two days since the incident, it's still got a lot of healing to do.
No worries. I'm still training and racing hard.
