I wonder if that was the same eagle I saw? Just after I parked, down by the river, it flew nearby, and this one also had a small mammal. It did look foxlike, but small. Maybe a baby? It was a pretty cool sight.

Possibly! The mammal I saw was probably about a foot or so long. We got there a little before 11, I think.

Some of us AP posters have used it over the years since it first came along (2006!) to mention/describe wildlife sightings.
