At least you seem to have unchecked the "Illness" box.

It's still in the injury list though. Left ear still completely blocked. Don't know how that's going to affect my first 'parade' night tomorrow if I can't hear what people are telling me.

I have a feeling that you won't have an issue with that.

Welcome to M40 Mazal Tov

Actually I've been in M40 all year.

Not for rogaining ;)

I don't care about that. Andre does though. He says I can team up with him now but I told him if that's all he wants me for, he can stick it. Ironically I'll be doing the next event in the open category because Dave isn't old enough.

Incidentally I've never got three badges at an event before. The only time I've got near it, we finished 4th overall with a win in the intervarsity category and were equal on points with 3rd but they got the 3rd men's badge. I remember that event hurt A LOT (I think it was Hillman Hunter Safari) and I cramped excessively during the event, something that hasn't happened in a long while.

I notice the June 24hr event has been cancelled due to lack of interest DPaW being a bunch of bureaucrats.

"Next event"? I thought you'd given up rogaining...

I'm only doing one event this year. I thought I should have at least one go at it whilst being 'old'. Plus it's (mostly) farmland and I like farmland and I thought I should turn up at least once just to remind people that I still exist (they didn't believe me this time last year when I said I'd given up so I just need to reinforce that this is just a brief cameo).

June 24 has been cancelled? Crap. Better tell my Outdoor Ed teacher. That was his second camp for his year 9 class :( Guess they're going to the August one after all...

Yeah no camping allowed in DPaW operated areas anymore so the camp portion of his camping trip is the least likely thing to happen.

I don't know what's happening with August. Wil was asking me a couple of weeks ago if I could get permission from the landowner we used for the 6hr last year but I don't know if that was for June or August. I didn't follow up because I already know he wouldn't give permission for that scale of event.

I could ask the landowners around Ellendale pool again. The Moffats (where we camped in 2012) are awesome :) I've run a few 4hr mini rogaines for students around their property.

There's only one grumpy bugger on the map (if he's still alive) and his property is quite avoidable.

But how many people want a rogaine 400km+ from suburbia?

At the moment there's no rogaine so a rogaine is better than that outcome. The 2012 event had ~130 people but I dare say there'd be fewer this time (numbers have dropped off significantly of late) plus there's still the issue of no setters...

Plus there's also a trail O event at Greenmount that weekend so I imagine most, if not all, the orienteers would choose that over it.

Yeah - I don't have any time before the June event. If it was the August one, I might be able to do something (in the July school holidays) but I don't think that works as well with crops all over the map. Theoretically, given enough warning, I could set something up here at a time of year that suited the farmers (I might even fix some of the incorrect fence lines on the map). It's a nice spot to go for a run and only about 40 minutes from home.
