Thanks all. @Wes I should have been faster, but as the wheels fell off it was pure survival! Shoulda done a few long road runs beforehand, muscles were not used to that pounding, legs were in agony at the half mark!
Wow! Way to gut it out, my friend. Incidentally, that's quite a flat shoe for such a long distance. How are your achilles?
Achilles were/are fine but calfs were screaming probably partly due to the shoes and my lack of real road distance in them.
