Well, I'm 46 and she's 70+, so... ;-)
I'd have been pretty thrilled to finish close to Ed Whitlock in a running race of any distance, most of which he held world age records in. He was 86 when he died, and still running strong at 85, the year before his illness started taking its toll. Close to great = inspires you = good!
Good point -- the thought of trying to beat her gives me motivation out on the course. She beat me by ~20 minutes on the Flying Pig Long course last month. Sigh...
