I ran so much harder than last week and got thrashed. Put it down to route choice since I made a similar error to last week.

It seems I lost more time than I thought on the last couple of legs, similar to you, and wasn't running as much faster than last week as it felt. Getting stuck in the green coming out of 9 obviously didn't cost me much because that was one of only two fastest splits I had.

19-20 was probably the wrong choice, 20-21 I think my route was ok, just too much hesitation and not enough speed. You seem to have lost quite a bit there by heading way off to the right crossing the creek. I must admit I didn't really like having to make route choices across the creek not knowing what the crossing would be like but if I was properly committed to racing then I should have just taken the shortest route and gone straight through the creek every time.

Straight through went through the reeds so I went around but the trace looks like it went way right because of that. I must admit I ended up further from the gate than I expected and if I'd bothered reading my map, (probably) should have gone across the oval.

I remember last time I tried to go around the end of the drain and fell over the fence in the process.
