Great work in classic Iceland weather, Louise and Nicki! Would love to read some details about the terrain, footing, viz. Noticed a Foley-Fisher on another women's team. Must be related to Zoltan!

Terrain really varied from hard-packed gravel roads to valleys of trampoline moss, rugged and uneven ankle-breaking volcanic rock, clay with bubbling hot springs, soft, sandy hills of up to 300m, and some fun ridges. Visibility went in and out. When it was foggy, you couldn't see more than 10 m, but then it might lift for a few moments and you could see the outline of the terrain and quickly match your map or check your bearing. We had at least 2 hours of clear views over the 2 days though!!! Lots and lots of rain and wind on day 2.

Love that description of moss. Thanks for the details. Sounds very familiar with our hiking experiences but we weren't trying to run! When we orienteered at ICE O, I found the trampoline moss really tiring to run through. Not much spring in my steps then....
