The Lake is open for the season. I got in 1 km early this morning with no wetsuit. You should come out. Scott said he is training for a long run/swim race, so he may be interested too. Super, are you interested?

What time are you usually swimming at? If I can make it I'm in (however, am I still allowed with a wetsuit, I'm a bit of a cold water princess + I need the buoyancy help!).

What's the protocol normally? I'm game to try stuff but would be proceeding with caution here.

The last couple of mornings I've been hitting the water around 6:15-6:30 am. I'm up for swimming later in the evenings too when the kids are in bed (after 8 pm). I start from this location: https://goo.gl/maps/zg4VZQnvLTC2

There are showers there to rinse the sand off, and an area to lock up your bike. I swim parallel to the shore and am always within 50 m of the shore. The water is quite shallow at that distance, so you can stand if you want to.

I like to comply with international standards for open water swimming, so you need to leave that wetsuit at home. ha! Just kidding. It is pretty cold. I've been wearing a silicone swim cap, which is just a poor man's wetsuit. Wear whatever you want. I won't judge (out loud).
