Yeah, newbie runners always smash out 7km at <5min/km and feel only mild discomfort. :p

I was more referring to the discomfort and lack of enjoyment that the pace... It's not that long ago that I didn't bother starting a run if it wasn't going to be over 8km (or a hard effort if not).
