I assume that's really nice if you're not getting dragged up on the back of a tow rope?
I remember that race every single time we walk up it!!!!
So many memorable moments in one very long day.
Indeed. My favourite at this moment is in the 2nd leg and the view from the beach of Pete abandoning the double ski heading into the break zone... and leaving Jen to her fate in the front seat of the craft!!
I won't mention the first leg, and that wondering what on earth our elite orienteer had managed to do... :-)
Meanwhile our team was one of the first into the water on that second leg and one of the last out. I was wondering what on earth our team had managed to do!
I vaguely recollect having to tow Fletch up the southern face of the Porongorups too, although I think that the memory is vague as Pete was towing him and I was shattered. Recollections of Fletch being defeated by a fallen karri tree across the track and being unable to bend a leg or at all without cramping. I think a kind of rigor nearlymortis had set in so we were able to pass him over the top like a jarrah pole.
Sounds about right. I remember completely blowing up on the bike leg before and getting very little sympathy from Pete, then having to choose between heading straight into the Porongorups or sitting out one leg and having to get back on a bike. I still think I made the right call there.
