...we just celebrated the opposite, with no need for flashlights as we camp in WA State, so far north that we're getting maybe 6 hours of darkness at night. May your days get longer and warmer soon!

I could potentially have been at a conference in DC this week but decided against it partly because I hear the humidity there's horrendous at this time of year? And also, it would have been too hard to choose between that and US Champs!

DC is true misery most days from June to Aug. I guess you just get used to it...I used to run with water and go as early as I could to avoid the worst, but still finished looking like I'd gone swimming, instead. If you go, they run a summer short series that isn't publicly advertised. Worth querying on AP, there are a bunch of orienteers from around there who would be happy to link up with you.
