How was climbing in Font? I hear the lower grade ones are actually harder because they've rubbed smooth by use
There was a lot of smooth slippy stuff, but it wasn't bad really.
I really enjoyed climbing there but I found the best thing to do (for me anyway) was to not pay too much attention to the grades and just climb things that look nice. I looked up some of the grades in the guidebook later and I saw that one thing I'd been trying for ages and was like a 4a...
Yeah but outdoor climbing has it's own difficulties too. I probably wouldn't be able to try as hard if I only had a flimsy mat under me. Need to try it sometime :)
Rough one about the car though. Was it a long drive up from Aix?
Should see if we can get some mats and head to Glendalough sometime everyone's home.
Aye the car was a bit of a downer, but at least no passports or wallets got taken.
It was about 4:30 so not too bad at all really. There's apparently some decent bouldering spots near Lyon as well, so it might be worth looking into getting a few mats for the house.
