I'm sure I've just skipped scoat fell completely out before? I was just following the DP marauding vets mind so not entirely sure

yeah, looking at my GPS from 2013 we skirted it much lower (there's a path marked on the AP topo map!), coming in where the ridge from Red Pike joins, but messed this up a bit in 2012 - should be plenty of people on race day to spot the right line though!

Don't go anywhere near Scoat Fell, the contouring line to the col is fine.
