great example of staying calm and pushing on after a tough start.

did they hand out the maps early or were you running late? did a rogaine with a 'go when ready' start where they passed out maps an hour earlier than advertised. sort of a bummer losing an hour of daylight on the teams that camped at the start.

maps hand out at 0430 and start at 0600. we arrived at 0500 due to a longish drive to the start location (lodging on-site was sold out) and not getting up early enough. so they handed out maps on time and we just got there late.

normally we have to plot there maps too, but this year was mostly pre-plotted which was a huge help. but Mule courses are a bit tricky, this one no exception, knowing what gear to carry on what legs and when bikes were being transported all needed to be understood. plus Biz and Andrei had to build their bikes from travel in the back seat of a Honda Civic.
