It's odd to see a map that's not north directly up, I've not seen that before! Although I suppose you just get used to holding the map at an angle if you're a north-up type of person ;-) Maybe that was the best way to get the whole course on one sheet, better than Poole urban a couple of weeks ago where the start was off the map.

I realised that I subconsciously use the sides of the paper to orient north/south, which meant when I was in automatic mode to pick the right path at a junction, that's when I made mistakes. No-one to blame but myself. Interesting to know that I do that. Maybe I'll take more care with folding the map at right angles in future.
And yeah, it was done so that the whole map could fit on an A4 sheet.

I'm not sure what I would have done at Poole without a start on the map. I have enough trouble finding it at the best of times!

There was a big lake next to the start, so fortunately it was obvious where we were ;-)
