I'm glad it was downhill. Just feels like you get tired really easily, and heart rate feels higher than normal.

Post trek update. So the lesson of the week is that acclimatisation makes a huge difference.

The trek spent most of its time around 4000m with passes over 5000m at the beginning and end.


In hindsight I was feeling pretty trippy when I flew into Leh at 3500m, and was Ok but cautious thru the first 5000m pass. By the end of the week, I slept happily at 4700 and pushed hard up the last steep 300m of ascent to 5200m to see what would happen. I felt pretty good, albeit was breathing hard like a puppy. Definite rewards for good breathing technique up there.

Don't think I'll be running the Ladakh marathon anytime soon though.
