It is pretty hard mentally to modify a training plan just because it hadn't made adequate allowances for the recovery from a very long run the previous day. Recognizing that it is better to cut the workout instead of driving yourself into injury is a really wise choice when you realize a few minutes in that things just aren't feeling right.

Yeah, but a tough choice to make, especially in a group setting!
