Alan, you're becoming a legend in Scandinavian terrain, things are really improving for you. This low vis stuff in Estonia probably just wasn't your forte right now and it would have taken a really strong mind to stand down such an opportunity to race for Team BR in the relay. You took it on, your did what you did. Learn from it, but don't back away. If you want to do well in Latvia you need to fully overcome what concerns you have. Don't take a big break - getting your confidence back in the autumn NMs will do you the world of good.
It was a big ask trying to run Leg 1 in the WOC Relay 2 days after the Classic. How much notice did you get to properly prepare / train both physically and mentally for this? Running first leg in any relay race is very different to 'normal' orienteering due to the faster pace and distraction of other runners in very close proximity, the forkings, etc. Learn from the experience and I'm sure you'll be better prepared next time.
